On completion of course student will be trained to:
· Understand the roles and responsibilities of the First Aid Responder
· Carry out patient assessment
· Carry out CPR and use an external defibrillator
· Manage a variety of injuries and medical conditions
Who should attend:
Under Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Regulations 2007, First Aid Responders must be trained and deployed in the workplace. Required number of First Aid Responders is based on clients risk assessment.
Course content:
· Accident assessment
· Scene management
· Circulation, wounds, bleeding
· Post-traumatic stress
· Fracture, sprains, strains, dislocations
· Unconsciousness, fainting and head injuries
· Burns, poisons, electrical injuries
· Cardiac arrest, heart attacks, CPR and Defibrillator use
· Choking, airway obstruction
· Medical emergencies, epilepsy, diabetes, asthma
Course Duration: 3 Days
Refresher Course: 2 Days
Certification PHECC (Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council)
Certification valid for 2 years
Participation: Max 8
