Course Objectives:
On completion of this course participants will have a clear understanding of:
· Possible fire hazards in the workplace
· Assisting in the fire risk assessment process
· Understanding how fires can occur and how fire and smoke can spread
· Identifying the correct type of fire equipment for the class of fire
· Identifying if your premises are equipped with appropriate fire alarms, detectors, emergency lighting and firefighting equipment
· Ensuring fire equipment is inspected and maintained as frequently as necessary
· Advising staff on measures to reduce the risk of fire occurring and action to take in the event of an emergency
